Typography has always been a passion of mine throughout my career. I particularly enjoy using hand-drawn type as a means of artistic expression. I have worked on several personal projects that showcase my love for typography, some of which have even been used for t-shirt designs.
During my career, I dedicated 13 years to working at Cartoon Network. My focus most of that time revolved around promoting popular action franchises like Ben 10, Teen Titans, and Star Wars Clone Wars, among other beloved shows. I have a vast collection of projects, but I can only share a few of my favorites with you. Since I began my work during the launch of Powerpuff Girls and Ed, Edd n Eddy, some projects have been lost due to the passage of time and technological advancements.
Designing T-shirts is a delightful activity that allows me to express my typographic ideas on a great canvas. Amidst the pandemic lockdown, it has become a way for me to cope and stay creative. Lately, I have also found joy in showcasing my renewed passion for D&D through my designs. You can find all of my designs on my artist shop at Threadless.com under idrawtype.threadless.com.
During my early days as a freelancer, I collaborated with a small start-up to create some human resources brochures. These samples were meant to showcase what could be possible for their potential clients. To bring the brochures to life, I teamed up with a talented local artist who provided all the illustrations needed.
Designing logos can be both challenging and rewarding. I have had the pleasure of creating logos for friends who were starting their businesses but lacked the budget or expertise to establish the brand they desired and deserved. Here are some of my favorite logo projects.
My tattoo artist, Russ Abbott, and I worked together for over a year to develop these color theory tools. We created a color wheel and booklet that are both user-friendly and accurate. The color wheel is conveniently housed in a vinyl record album sleeve, and each color represents the full range of tattoo ink colors from Eternal Ink. We carefully calibrated each color digitally to ensure precise placement within the wheel. The colors gradually transition from lighter on the outer rim to darker towards the center. The wheel also includes several masks that allow for the isolation of various color schemes such as monochromatic, analogous, complimentary, split complimentary, and triadic. The kit also includes a removable sticker of the color wheel with no masks to view the full spectrum of colors and how they relate to each other. Our goal was to create a tool that would help tattoo artists understand color theory and apply it to their work with ease.
As a designer for Tattoo Smart, I have been privileged to work on numerous projects over the years. I have completed several projects from start to finish, including two stamp sets specifically designed for the Procreate app and marketed toward the tattoo community. These sets include digital packaging and a complete collection of stamp images. Additionally, I have either created or enhanced three other sets for Procreate, which I then converted into clip art sets.
In this section, we have concepts for 2 different activations promoting Betty Buzz non-alcoholic mixers. The first is a traveling activation with a large and a small area bar. The other is a large tent activation with a choose-your-own-adventure-style path leading you to different drinks.
In addition, there are 2 different retail display arrangements that spotlight a collection of wrapping paper, gift bags, and gifting accessories.
